Road Rage Driver Fires Gun During Fight In Middle Of Virginia Intersection, Police Say

A Virginia man is facing charges for firing a gun, hitting an uninvolved vehicle, during a road rage incident in the middle of an intersection, police said.

Timmy Mitchell Deane, of Woodbridge, became involved in a road rage incident near Dumfries and Counselor Roads in Manassas around 1:20 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, Prince William County police said.

While the two vehicles were stopped at the intersection, the 52-year-old victim approached Deane's vehicle where both drivers engaged in a physical altercation, police said.

During the encounter, Deane held a gun towards the victim and fired a round, striking a separate nearby vehicle, PWC police said. 

A brief struggle over the firearm then ensued before the victim took it, which was eventually was turned over to the police without further incident. 

Responding officers detained the parties and took the firearm. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. Following the investigation, Deane was charged with attempted malicious wounding, shooting from a vehicle, destruction of property.
